Maturing period - In this video you learn about how to check for maturity of your potato crop; by visual observation for signs of physical maturity (wilting) and by performing the ‘finger test’. This is important to ensure maturity of the crop and to help farmers harvest at the right time to increase yield, quality and income.

Grading and Sorting the potatoes after harvest ensures the farmers meet the grade and quality requirements for the sellers. Grading facilitates elimination of damaged potatoes as well as exposed potatoes to the sun. Sorting ensures that the products meet defined taste, appearance and quality requirements
